Upskilling Pathway through Informal Adult Education of New Comers of Afghan Refugees in Europe
The project forms with different partners to create a pathway (platform) to allow and support Afghan refugees by
providing informal adult education programs. The project design provides an opportunity for project partners to
collaborate on ways to widen access for Afghan newcomers (as refugees)and providing them informal adult education
opportunities as a specific group of people who have fewer adult educational opportunities in Europe.
The project aims to study and design flexible formats for Afghan newcomers as refugees with different profiles and educational
backgrounds. It means the project partners from various European countries, with different experiences and knowledge,
design a format with transnational and national characters to design their informal adult education programs.
Those Afghan adults who are refugees and recently arrive in Europe (since 2015) have a low level of skills and educational
backgrounds comparing with European standards. Therefore, the project aims to create an upskilling pathway and guide
associations, NGOs, adult education institutions to offer practical and valuable seminars, workshops, and training
courses.
The project also aims to increase the quality of work and practices of the organization and institutions
involved. It also supports the project partners to build up their capacities to work transnationally and share their best
practices and experiences in refugees and how and what to offer them as adult learners in Europe.
Another objective of the project is to create opportunities with different organizations as partners in this project to exchange ideas and learn
from each other to foster the integrity and activities of their organizations.
